ENOCH WOOD, SCULPTOR, / BURSLEM, / 17[81?], / AND DIED IN / 1791, / AGED / 88 / YEARS. / IS NOT THIS A BRAND PLUCKED" The final lines are a reference to Zechariah 3:2 and Wesley's rescue as a young child from a fire at the Epworth Rectory.
